Three Saints only recognized by the Church

The official list of saints recognized by the Catholic Church has only 3 Saints from Brittany:

Saint Yves

(Patterns of Lawyers, died in 1303),

St. Clair

(1first bishop of Nantes in the 3rd century, unknown in Quimper)

Saint Corentin

(Bishop died in Quimper 460).

Yet Breton history has more than 400 Saints, whose existence for some is in doubt :

Saint Rittan Crozon, Saint Riwalatr Quimperlé, Saint Sutic Guissény, Saint Thamec Moëlan, Saint Néventer of Plounéventer, or who were recognized by the Church without being canonized. <<<read more >>>

Several statues of our old Breton Saints are traveling with pets, as emblems or characteristics . Saint Corentin has his fish ; Saint Pol de Leon, son tarragon ; saint Hervé, are loup, etc..

These associations beings supposedly lower are based on some feature of the life and legend of the saints.
Let's review them, include legends and briefly examine the different representations.

Saint Yves

This is the largest of the Breton Saints. Yves Hélory de Kermartin est né à Kermartin en 1253.
He studied theology and law at the University of Paris, under the aegis of St Thomas Aquinas.
Then he went to Orleans to study civil law.
From the age of 27 ans, Yves was given the task of official (ecclesiastical judge) in Rennes, then Tréguier.
He abandoned this charge to become rector of simple Trédrez then Louannec.
On the death of his parents, he inherited the domain of Kermartin, it transforms into a hospice and there heals itself sick.
It quickly became a tireless advocate of the poor and unfortunate.
He died in his mansion in Kermartin 1303.
It is quickly canonized, in 1347, by Pope Clement VI.
